With a legacy spanning decades, Honda stands as a global leader in innovation, engineering excellence, and commitment to customer satisfaction. Since its inception in 1946, Honda has continually pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in the automotive industry.
Honda entered Nepal in 1968 A.D. through an initiative by the Jyoti Group of Companies, initially importing and distributing 11 units of Honda motorcycles. Syakar Trading Company Pvt. Ltd. (STC), a subsidiary of the Jyoti Group of Companies and formerly known as Syakar Company Ltd (established in 1976), now serves as the exclusive distributor of Honda Motorcycles & Scooters, Honda Cars, and Honda Power Products in Nepal. The company officially changed its name to Syakar Trading Company Pvt. Ltd. on June 7, 2011 (Jestha 24, 2068 B.S).
Since importing 11 units of Honda motorcycles initially, Syakar Trading Company has maintained its commitment to delivering high-quality motorcycles and scooters. Presently, the company imports nearly 60,000 Honda motorcycles and scooters each year. This growth is thanks to the increasing number of customers, leading Syakar Trading to operate over 70 Honda 2-wheeler outlets throughout Nepal.
In addition to their role as official distributors, Honda Nepal has extended its commitment to enhancing mobility and promoting traffic safety. On March 23, 2010, Syakar Trading Company Pvt. Ltd. proudly opened the ‘Syakar Safety Riding Training Centre’ – Nepal’s pioneering and largest motorcycle training institute, covering an impressive 10,200 sq.m in Gwarko, Lalitpur. Developed to meet the rigorous training standards set by Honda Motors Japan, the institute is staffed with highly trained male and female Safety Riding Instructors and offers a comprehensive range of safety gear. Furthermore, the center has introduced a motorcycle license trial, reinforcing its dedication to fostering safe riding habits.
